Musicians and singers for the Malta Concert Orchestra

 
Background 

The Malta Concert Orchestra’s mission is “to reach out to people across the board through accessible and inspiring musical performances.” The orchestra is a versatile ensemble made up of professional and semi-professional musicians who perform in formations of various sizes depending on venue and occasion particularly in the genres of pop, jazz and rock. Over the years, the orchestra has performed numerous memorable concerts including Suċċessi Maltin, Notte Italiana, A Night at the Musicals, The Name’s Bond …, Queen Tribute Concert, and A Christmas Celebration among others, accompanying leading Maltese singers as well as numerous renowned international artistes such as Gabriele Comeglio, Stjepko Gut, and the Italian television stars Massimo Lopez and Pupo.

Scope

The Malta Concert Orchestra (MCO) intends to widen its pool of musicians and singers with the scope of improving its standards and level of its performances whilst giving the younger generation the opportunity to expose their talents. Pjazza Teatru Rjal is, therefore, issuing this Expression of Interest amongst musicians and singers based in the Maltese Islands who would be interested in rendering their services either as a singer or as an instrumentalist with the Malta Concert Orchestra.

Requisits

Orchestral musicians who have received at least a diploma level of music education on their instrument and/or who have the relevant orchestral experience may apply.

Singers must be over 18 years of age and have prior experience in performing pop or musical theatre or rock with live bands or orchestras.

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to sit for an audition and interview.
