CALL FOR APPLICATION – VIVALDIADA

PoliFonia Arts Center (Macedonia) and Pjazza Teatru Rjal (Malta) announce the 2026 edition of VIVALDIADA, an educational project inspired by Antonio Vivaldi’s legacy of showcasing young talent in concert. The initiative promotes cultural exchange and artistic growth by enabling young musicians to work and perform alongside established professionals.

Organised by the DMBUC Ilija Nikolovski-Luj Music and Performing Arts Centre in Skopje, VIVALDIADA has enjoyed four successful editions since 2022, attracting enthusiastic audiences and presenting numerous young student soloists supported by professors and professional orchestral musicians.

To give a more international dimension to the 2026 edition, through its partnership with Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Malta, the organizers are extending the invitation to Maltese musicians and singers aged 14 to 24 to apply as soloists or orchestral members. Selected participants will perform under the direction of Maestro Christopher Muscat, joining Macedonian students and professional tutors and musicians from the PoliFonia Arts Center.

Applicants must submit an online application by not later than 8 April and eventually attend in-person auditions on 14 April 2026 at the Green Room of Pjazza Teatru Rjal, Valletta, performing at least one movement of a Vivaldi concerto or aria with piano accompaniment. Successful applicants may be selected to perform as soloists, or orchestral members, or both. Participants must cover their own flights (Malta–Skopje–Malta) and meals but the host organisation will provide accommodation and internal transport in Skopje.

The programme (5 to 8 June 2026) includes workshop-rehearsals on 6 and 7 June with a final public concert on the evening of 7 June at the foyer of the Macedonian National Opera and Ballet.PJ
