Insulae Lab is the first music production center for jazz and artistic creativity from the Mediterranean islands. Conceived and strongly supported by the Time in Jazz Association, is based in Berchidda, Sardinia, under the artistic direction of Paolo Fresu. It is a continuous cultural and artistic laboratory that also involves other Mediterranean islands to promote the exchange and circulation of artists and ideas. Insulae Lab aims to foster the exchange and circulation of artists and projects, encourages joint planning and co-productions, offers creative residency programs, promotes new talents, and incentivizes multidisciplinary approaches. The Insulae Lab Production Center benefits from the experience and organizational resources of the Time in Jazz Association, which this year hosted the XXVII edition of the International Time in Jazz Festival.

An artistic project that draws inspiration from classical musical forms, particularly the “Suite,” where Rino Cirinnà’s original compositions are inspired by contemporary rhythms and melodies. This journey starts from Sicily and explores the Mediterranean, encountering its major islands with their unique colours, rich traditions, irreplaceable flavours, and incomparable scents, all conveyed through fascinating and evocative means.
