ORCHESTRA SUPERVISOR (MALTA CONCERT ORCHESTRA)

Pjazza Teatru Rjal is seeking the services of an Orchestra Supervisor (on a Contract for Service basis) for the Malta Concert Orchestra. The Orchestra Supervisor’s role will be mainly to act as a liaison between the orchestra co-ordinator, conductors, musicians, and administration to ensure the smooth running of rehearsals and performances.

Job Description

The Orchestra Supervisor shall assist and liaise with the Orchestra Co-ordinator about the engaging of musicians, coordinating schedules, managing attendance, maintaining a disciplined work environment, assist with librarian (distribution/collection of sheet music) and logistic duties (ensuring performance readiness of venue, equipment, and personnel), and act as stage manager for the Malta Concert Orchestra. Thus, the Orchestra Supervisor is required to be present during all rehearsals and performances to act as the orchestra’s on-site primary point of contact.

Key Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate should be able to work on a contract for service basis (therefore, in possession of a valid VAT number) and have:

  • strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills;
  • excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • ability to remain calm under pressure;
  • flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules; and
  • knowledge of music industry, orchestras, theatres, and potentially some musical background will be considered an asset.
