Almere Youth Orchestra

Almere is a young city in het centre of the Netherlands. It is also the residence of the Almere Youth Symphony Orchestra (AJSO), one of the best youth orchestras in the country. The main goal of the orchestra is to make music with great enthusiasm and expression.

The musicians perform classical-, jazz-, film music, musical and opera.

In recent years the orchestra has performed in a lot of concert halls and parks in and around Almere, throughout the Netherlands and across Europe. Examples are the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, The Wiener Musikverein in Vienna, open air locations in Tuscany and several churches in Berlin, Barcelona and London. With these concerts the orchestra reaches a broad audience from music experts to children and from Royals to tourists.

The orchestra consists of about 80 musicians and is led by conductor Hans Welle.
