The MYO’s new year of activities kicks off with the Season Opening Concert at Pjazza Teatru Rjal. Dutch conductor Ali Groen directs a programme of exuberant music featuring Beethoven’s Overture from the ballet The Creatures of Prometheus, Georges Bizet’s fiery Carmen Suite No. 1 and Béla Bartok’s folksy suite for orchestra Hungarian Sketches. The concert rounds out with Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story Orchestral Medley showcasing some of the most popular melodies of this timeless musical.
